Scarborough
Scarborough is located south of Portland and is home to two of our favorite Maine seafood restaurants.
Ken's Place
This place is an old favorite of ours and we love coming here during the summer and having our favorite seafood dishes. It's not a traditional restaurant setting; you order at the counter and then come up to get your food when you're called, but there are plenty of tables both indoors and outdoors at which to eat your meal. Our favorite dish is the Maine-style clam cakes. These clam cakes are flat and crispy and have a high clam-to-batter ratio. The clam strips and coleslaw are our other go-to items on the menu, as well as the classic New England clam chowder.

Clambake Restaurant
Clambake is just down the road from Ken's and offers a similar menu. We especially enjoyed the clam strip dinner and the clam chowder. The restaurant is gigantic -- Clambake has plenty of indoor seating. It offers a similar style of ordering at the counter and bringing the food back to your own table. Both restaurants have a good summer atmosphere that adds to the experience.
